Hello Tony,
I look at your site every morning, it brings back the happy days of my youth rambling through the Fells with my friends.
We always stopped at the Britannia for a hearty meal before making our way home to our town of Bootle Liverpool.
The photo of your little Grand daughter reminds me of my childhood. Mum would regularly take me by train to Southport Beach. She always had a delicious picnic in her basket.
As soon as she was busy settling us into a perfect spot on the sand I would run and run like a greyhound to the edge of the sea for a paddle. All Mum could see was this tiny little person so far away
and then she to had to run to. I always asked her Mum what is over there ? (meaning the horizon) and she said your eldest brother Ted (he was 20 years older than me) At 27 I came 13,000 miles to work and to visit him.
I met my Australian husband and we have to adult sons and Grandchildren Pippa and Will. I have lived in Melbourne Australia for 47 years but the call of home is never far away and the memories of The Lakes is forever in my heart.
Thank you for this gift.
Jeany Trew

Hello Tony, you seem to be following us! We went up Latterbarrow on Friday with our dog Alfie. Today we went to Glenridding where we had lunch at the Helvellyn cafe which was excellent and very well organised. Looking forward to more of your excellent photographs which we look at every day Kind regards Laurie & Alison (Chapel Stile)
